Other than the election, my week was pretty normal. My French test got cancelled, which was not normal, because we forgot to study something that she had put on the test, but that's fine with me. I can always use a little more studying when it comes to tests. Also, we are doing a project on trees in Art class, and my tree seems wonderful, if I do say so myself. Lol. In CCU, we've been preparing for a test and for our project which is due December 1st. I think it should be pretty easy, but I don't have Vista so my Powerpoint will not work on the class computer. That is one of the little kinks in my plan that I'll have to work out, or I'll end up just putting everything on a tri-fold poster board. Either way, it shouldn't be too hard. Other than those few things, life at M.C. has been pretty normal. Overall, I would definately say that the 18 hours I'm taking at M.C. is challenging me. All of the classes that I am taking may not be very hard, but when I add up all of the work in them, it turns out to be pretty challenging. Oh yea, next semester I'll be taking seven classes /18 hours. I'm taking those KIN classes that substitute for the actual P.E. classes. I am not lazy, though. I just have severe flat feet, and running for too long or jumping from too high could break my ankles. *Cringe* I could have taken a water class, but the one I needed was full, and I figured I'd just get them out of the way with the KIN classes.

Congratulations, President BARACK OBAMA!!!!!!!!!
We did it! On November 4th we went out to the polls, voiced our vote, and made history! I was up til 2 AM watching the polls, and sure enough, Obama won by a landslide!!!! I have complete faith in him that he will unite America, bring us out of the recession and the Iraq War, and repair the damge done to the global reputation of America! :-)

Trick or Treat! :-)
Last week was pretty good. The high for the day has finally started to drop. On average, the high for the week was around 60-ish, which is excellent in my opinion. Personally, I despise hot weather in Mississippi and would rather deal with extrememe cold than extreme heat. I just hope it stays this way, and we don't have another warm Christmas in Clinton, MS. Lol.
As for my classes, they have been going rather well. I had a test in French and Art. Both went well. Also, I have been assigned a new thing to worry about for the next little while, a project on Russian culture. Lol, it's not all bad though. Atleast it's not some lame assignment like writing a 20-page paper on the progress of the study of Chemistry in the USSR or something not really interesting like that.
Halloween was....not eventful. Because Clinton decided to reschedule Halloween due to Clinton High School's Homecoming, we did not have the usual 232,953,534,535,534 doorbell rings with little kids asking for candy on the 31st. They rescheduled it for the 30th. The extra left-over candy was pretty cool, though. But yea, who does that?! That's like Clinton rescheduling Christmas for the 2nd of January just because they don't find the 25th of December the most "convenient time to have Christmas." Ugh.
THE ELECTION IS IN TWO DAYS! MAKE SURE TO HEAD OUT TO THE POLLS AND MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!! I'll be going around to various polls in the JAX Metro-Area with Rock the Vote volunteers to monitor the polls. Of course, it will be after voting. I think I am going to go at 7am to make sure I don't have to wait in like for forever. FYI, polls are open from 7am to 7pm, and you can call the Clinton Court House if you aren't sure of your polling location. I'm am really excited about Tuesday, and I hope everyone else is as well!! :)

Obama! '08! Oh, yeah!
Last week was rather exhausting. I think this was mainly due to the fact that I'm sick and still managed to get up every morning and struggle through the day. To top it all off, as of Friday, I think I might have the flu. Don't worry though. I'm going to MEA in JAX just to find out what the problem is. If I do have the flu, I won't be going to school so as not to pass it on to all of you. Lol, I would say that M.C. is surely challenging me physically thanks to whoever got me sick.
As for M.C. challenging me intellectually, SOME of M.C. is doing exactly that, and the other part is, well, not. I'm not going to go naming names or anything, but some of my classes are just a BREEZE. Don't get me wrong, though. I love that I have some classes that I can just relax in and not have to worry about whether or not I did my homework, prepared for class, etc. simply because we almost never have to in there. As for the classes that do challenge me intellectually, I like them too because, without them, my being at M.C. would sort of feel pointless. Besides, I like being challenged intellectually when the subject I'm being challenged in is something that I enjoy.
Halloween's coming up soon! Lol, I've grown out of the whole "Trick or Treat!" thing, but I still get excited about Halloween. It's all about the spirit and history of the whole event. Just in case you weren't sure, there's a lot more to Halloween than just candy and costumes. However, I do think I'll be munching on some Twix or Snickers that night, lol, and I guess I'll celebrate somehow. Not sure how, though. Any suggestions?
Okay, here's the part of my blog that I've been waiting to write. November 4th is Election Day!!!! I'm really excited about this election, and I feel pretty comfortable with the polls considering that Obama has a pretty big lead. I'm going to go vote at Wildwood Baptist Church and am willing to drive anyone there or wherever they're polling place is. Remember, people, you have no right to complain about our government if you don't vote. Oh yea, also, I'm hosting an Obama election party for the Obama Headquarters in JAX on Nov. 3rd. If you need a ride to your polling place or would like to attend the party, you can contact me at oaustin@mc.edu or oliviaaustin90@gmail.com. Don't forget to vote Nov. 4th and remember to vote OBAMA/BIDEN!!!!

So Far, So Good.
Last week was pretty good. Once again, though, by the time that Friday rolled around, I was totally exhausted. Overall, last week went by smoothly. I made a 100 on my World Civ. test and a 105 on my CCU test. As for the Academic History Essay that I just got back, let's just say that I wasn't quite as happy to see that grade as I was to see the others. I guess I can sort of see where I went wrong with it, but I can't help but to feel a little frustrated because I really did try my hardest to do what I thought was the right thing for my essay. Oh well, though, what's done is done, and I guess I will just have to try again next time. Lol, it's sort of like those McDonald's Monopoly stickers on the meals...."I'm sorry. You didn't win. Play again next time."
Was it just me, or did everyone else notice how Monday through Thursday had regular MS weather, and then, on Friday, out of nowhere, it got pretty chilly. Unfortunately for me, I overslept that day and forgot to bring a jacket. To top it all off, I was wearing a thin shirt with very short sleaves. On the bright side, though, I'm glad to finally be seeing some signs Fall which I greatly prefer over Summer and Spring. It's always way too hot in the Summer, and I'm way to allergic to pollen to enjoy Spring. Fall and Winter are excellent because the weather is cool and I don't have allergies because the plants are all dead. Lol. Don't get me wrong though. I like nature, just from a distance. In conclusion, you will never see me somewhere in the middle of the woods unless it's a life or death situation.

Obama/Biden '08! Yes We Can!
So, yea. Last week was oddly exhausting. Thanks to fall break, though, I think I'll be able to recuperate. Anyways, part of the reason it was so exhausting is that I could really use my laptop in most of my classes for quick note-taking purposes, so I almost always take my laptop along with me to my classes. Well, I don't know if you have ever tried carrying a shoulder-sling kind of book bag with a laptop and those HUGE books in it, but it is terrible. My book bag felt like it was around 80 pounds, and I sort of felt like I was carrying an 8 year old child around in my book bag all day. And to top it all of, the high almost all last week was like 86 in addition to the Mississippi humidity which made it feel about 96 outside. Lol, I'm seriously considering purchasing a moped. Well, on the other hand, Mississippi College sure is doing what they said and challenging me physically.
Also, I am seriously thinking about having a double major. I know it would add another hefty chunk of time to my stay in college, but in the long run, I would benefit from it. My major now is Modern Languages (French/Russian). I was thinking of either adding Pre-Law or Modern Languages (German/Chinese or Japanese) as another major. I just really love other languages, and not to mention, that linguists are in high demand at the moment. As for the pre-law, that was my plan before I decided to do modern languages. I would love to become a lawyer, and maybe one day, be the first female president. :)
Yet another thing that was unique about last week is my decision to return to veganism. I've been a vegan before for about a year, and before that, I was a vegetarian for about two years. I had a small lapse in my healthy eating for a while, but I am currently a vegetarian, and I have been for almost a year. It's just that I don't feel quite as healthy as a vegetarian as I did when I was a vegan. Oh yea, fyi, vegenism is when you don't consume/use/wear any animal products. That means no milk, butter, fur, leather, glue, etc.
So, yea, I'm off to go post four comments. See everyone later.
P.S.: Vote Obama/Biden this November!!

Same Old Same...Sort Of.
Well, last week was pretty much the same old same. I had a test in French, which turned out to be horrible. There was a bunch of stuff on it that I was not expecting. Overall, I think I did okay though, and considering the fact that I made a 101 on my last test, I think I can afford to make a B on this test. Also, my rough draft in English Comp. was due as I am sure all of you know. It went pretty well for me, and I think I was able to correct all of my mistakes in my preliminary plan. To what degree was I able to do that, I do not know. I will be turning the final rough draft in Monday though. Also, tonight, I will be studying for my first CCU test. At first, I was really happy that I did not have many tests in this class, but now I look over the study guide and see how much information I have to remember for one test and am not so enthused about it any more.
On another note, I missed my first day of classes on Friday. Not for any frivolous reason though. I had to go to St. Dominic's for some medical tests, which all turned out to be okay. Due to the versed/fentanyl combo. they gave me, though, I was a little loopy. If any of you have had this combo. administered to you, you know what I mean. I couldn't make up my mind about whether I wanted Diet Spite or Coke for about 10 minutes, lol. I was, however, able to coherantly muster out the word "liar" when my mom jokingly told me that Obama had conceded and Mccain had won.
Anyway, I am off to go work on my draft and other homework some more. I wish everyone the best of luck with their drafts. See everyone on Monday!

My Birthday; Tests, Tests, More Tests...
Last week was, well, full of tests and projects. I had a test in French, again. Lol. Also, I had a test in Art, a project in CCU, and those response papers that I am sure all of you know about. Oh yea, we had that group conference thing, too. I had a group with two international students which turned out to be awesome because I got to hear about their school systems and life in China! They also got to listen to my preliminary plan which turned out to be not as good as I initially thought it was. Unfortunately, I neglected to include the whole part about how my academic events tied together with myself as a student. I won't make this mistake again in my draft though.
Well, on a non school-related topic, my birthday was last week on the 25th! I turned 18 which seemed to surprise everyone greatly. I have heard so many people this week say, "Wow! I thought you were older than that!" Ugh, well, no, I am not. It is cool, though. I guess. I am sure that my looking older than I really am will come in handy at some time or another. Hehe, but then again I am going to be hating that fact when I actually am older.
Anyways, I am about to go finish up my draft and run a few errands. Oh yea, I really need to get a new license as well considering it expired on my birthday, but it is Sunday so I guess I will have to wait until Monday. See you guys then!
